Texas Adult Driver Education & Traffic Safety – 6 Hour Course provides the required classroom instruction for adults seeking a Texas driver license or improved knowledge of Texas traffic laws. This six-hour course follows the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Program of Organized Instruction and is based on the current Texas Driver Handbook (DL-7).
Students receive instruction on driver licensing requirements, vehicle registration and insurance, right-of-way laws, traffic control devices, speed and traffic flow, special driving situations, alcohol and drug awareness, crash responsibilities, and defensive driving techniques. The course emphasizes reduced-risk driving practices, legal compliance, and responsible decision-making on Texas roadways.
This course satisfies the adult driver education requirement under Texas law for eligible applicants and is suitable for first-time drivers, new Texas residents, and adults seeking a structured review of Texas driving laws.
