How to Schedule Your Teen Driving Lessons

Have your permit? Let’s plan your first driving lesson.

This guide is for teens taking Drive Smart’s online classroom course. Follow the steps below for the program you bought.

Full program: Your 7 hours of driving and 7 hours of observation are included.
Classroom only: You need to buy the in-car training if you want to take it with Drive Smart.

I bought the full teen program

Your in-car training is already included. You do not need to buy it again.

  1. Get your learner’s permit from DPS. You need your permit before you can start driving lessons.
  2. Contact our front office. Call (972) 446-2200 or email info@drivesmartdfw.com. Tell us: “I am in the full online teen program, I have my permit, and I am ready for my first driving lesson.”
  3. Let us help you get started. The office will help set up your first lesson and explain how to schedule the next ones. If you need a lesson scheduling account, the office will help with that too.
  4. Confirm your lesson details. Make sure you know the date, time, meeting place, and what to bring. Bring your learner’s permit to each lesson.

I bought the classroom-only course

Driving lessons and observation are not included in classroom only. To take your in-car training with Drive Smart, buy the 7/7 package: 7 hours of driving with an instructor and 7 hours of watching another student drive.
